What will you learn?
This course considers the use of the equipment and techniques widely applied in wreck diving. Wreck diving can be one of the most exciting aspects of sports diving, however, every effort must be made to maximize safe diving techniques. This course will discuss the equipment and techniques commonly employed while wreck diving.
This course may be taught as a non-penetration, 2 dives required, or as a limited-penetration course, requiring 3 dives. Limited-penetration is defined as a swim through or within the ambient light of entry point.
Only penetrations into non-closed spaces with the possibility of through pass and partial access of light from the outside are allowed.
Description and duration of the course
This course is the basic level for further training according to technical diving programs – TDI Advanced Wreck Diver. Therefore, the training plan is a bit more extensive compared to similar courses of other training associations. Special attention is drawn to procedures of preparation for penetration, navigation, and use of additional equipment at marking of the direction. Limitations for penetration and possible additional risks at penetration into sunken objects will be elucidated during the course as well. The course includes three wreck dives with limited penetration during which the essential skills for this specialty will be trained.
