Puerto de la Cruz
The city is located in the northern part of Tenerife where the temperature is usually a few degrees lower than on the south coast. The main sights of Puerto de la Cruz include a saltwater pool complex Lago Martinez, designed by the famous architect César Manrique, and also a square in the old town of Plaza del Charco. Jardin beach is very popular among tourists, it’s surrounded by the hotels and palm grove. Unlike most of the modern sea resorts which usually include only hotels and, Puerto de la Cruz is a settling with many centuries of history where most of the population are natives. The town is really different from the tourist centers of the island. Its uniqueness is in a special inherent in this place atmosphere. People of Puerto de la Cruz are friendly and hospitable. They meet their guests as if they were relatives who came to visit. And this makes the northern resort of Tenerife so charming. Of course, the beauty of the natures in Puerto de la Cruz cannot be set aside. The suburbs of the town are literarily buried in verdure and the true gourmets will have an opportunity to taste real Canary “guachinche” and traditional local homemade food.
