Complete the requirements for certification as a NASE Worldwide Assistant Instructor
1 stage – Instructor Training Program (ITP)
The NASE Instructor Training Program (ITP) is the process through which qualified candidates complete the requirements for certification as a NASE Worldwide Assistant Instructor.
NASE Assistant Instructors who then successfully complete the NASE Instructor Examination (IE) are upgraded to NASE Open Water Instructors (OWIs).
Course Prerequisites
In addition to the prerequisites outlined in this document under General Standards, candidates for this program must:
- be certified to the NASE Divemaster level or hold equivalent certification from a recognized diver training organization;
- have their annual membership fees paid;
- provide proof of professional liability insurance.
2 stage – Instructor Evaluation (IE)
NASE Instructor Evaluation is an evaluation process designed to help ensure that only the most qualified candidates become NASE. As part of the evaluation process, each candidate will present:
- academic teaching presentations;
- confined-water teaching presentations;
- open-water teaching presentations.
Course Prerequisites
In addition to the prerequisites outlined in this document under General Standards, candidates for this program must:
- Have successfully completed a NASE Instructor Training Program (ITP) within the past two years. If more than two years have elapsed since completion of an ITP, candidates are to repeat and successfully pass an ITP before taking part in an IE.
- Have either passed the NASE ITP Standards exam to successfully completed the NASE Instructor Orientation eLearning program
